Reading Responses This I Believe Life Is a Spiritual Struggle As I read this article and Joseph explained his story, I was one of those people who wondered, “So why do you do it?” He went on to explain that he does martial arts to fight for every day. I believe this teacher is very educated. He knows that his career is important and knows he has the ability to help his students. He wants to fight for them and wants them to succeed. I believe he takes martial arts to gain strength and also as a stress reliever. Admittance to a Better Life This story was really interesting to me. “I believe education has the power to transform a person’s life.” Michael feels as though turned his life around. He was able to go from street smart to English smart. He feels good about making himself educated in a different way. This shows that if you really try you can become educated in whatever you want. You are responsible for how educated you want to become! This I Believe This article was my favorite. It uses a story from a family’s past to show that you can become educated in other ways besides school. In this case the nona was sent over to North America to become a picture bride. While she was here she learned to speak 5 languages, works at a fabric store, and can multiply large numbers. The girl then talks about how she loved to be with her nona when she would work 8 hour shifts. Her nona would teach her the many things she learned. It also showed that family helps teach and shape who you are. I believe this story also shows that you can be educated in different areas.
